Freestylo is an epic Kazakh akyn who became famous after appearing on the talent show Superstar KZ (analogous to "People's Artist") and a corresponding video on YouTube in March 2007.
The guy, a Kazakh of Mongolian appearance, who introduced himself as Yernar Kaldynov (Kazakh for "manly camel"), played the "Freestyler" dombra by the Bomfunk MC's group in the Eurodance style to the tune of the song "Mr. Vain" by the group "Culture Beat" and cheerfully read some lyrics. The combination of the appearance of the young talent, the dombra and the music itself brought a lot of lulz, the song immediately received 9,000 remixes, and the akyn himself became famous all over the world and became a hero of his native steppes, eclipsing Borat himself. Freestylo appeared again in the super final of the competition and caused a standing ovation.
In 2010, 3 years after the spectacular performance, representatives of Kazakhstani online media found Freestyle through a local website where he was written about, and asked him to repeat his creative act.
